Sleep

Lately I cannot tell
whether or not when I say
that I am tired
if it is out of habit
or if I truly am
tired.
I think I am,
mentally.
Yet I cannot sleep
without some form
of help.
So maybe this
is my mind speaking out
of how
this child
is tired.
She is tired of how
she'll blink away the
day
only to wake
to repeat.
And with this fatigue
that just will not leave
she'll fall asleep
in her world.
